Qualifications

Current Qualifications in Speech, Language and Communication on the Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF)

The Communication Trust has successfully established 7 units on the Qualifications and Credits Framework (QCF) and is now working to support the delivery of these units.

Children’s and Young People’s Level 3 Workforce Diploma

For the first time a speech, language and communication unit has been included as a mandatory part of initial training for early years practitioners as part of the new Level 3 Diploma for the Children and Young People’s Workforce, which became available in September 2010. This diploma is due to be taught to over 10,000 early years workers by 2015.

To support the delivery of the unit, Early Years Mandatory Pathway Unit 5, ‘Support children’s speech, language and communication’, the Trust has developed free, expertly written materials for trainers and learners. In addition the Trust has developed materials to support the additional 6 units which sit within the optional bank of the diploma.
